Meet Twix!

Hello! My name is Twix and I am looking for my forever home.

I am a happy, playful, energetic, smart, and cuddly boy! I love to run and and play with my canine foster sibling (a German Shepherd), but I also am happy to curl up on the floor with a good chew toy or get lots of pets from my foster mom. I get along well with small dogs and big dogs alike. I like it best when the other dogs like to run and play with me. I am learning to fetch a ball and return it to Mom to throw again.

Did you see my beautiful colour? My fur is super soft too. People love to snuggle me! I would love to be in a home with someone who will play with me. I am a very smart boy and learned "sit" in one lesson, but I will jump up as soon as I see a treat coming my way or if my foster mom turns around. I love all food and will gobble it down quickly, but I do share well with my big foster sis. (She's kind of a pig.) Haha. I also know "off". I can reach the kitchen counter with my little paws, so Mom has to keep an eye on me and is still teaching me not to jump up on the counter.

I am around 3.5 months old, and I weigh 26lbs. They tell me that I am a German Shepherd Mix, just like my brothers. I am probably not going to grow to be bigger than 50-60lbs, despite my big paws. I am just a sweet, happy go lucky puppy, looking for a family who will love me forever.

I haven't been able to go for walks yet because I just got my vaccines recently, but I did pretty well on a leash when Mom took me to the vet and to a friend's house. I ride well in the car and have taken trips over an our long so far. I will go potty outside as long as I have a way to get out. And, I am great with kiddos. I recently met my human foster sister, who is only 6 months old, and I was super gentle with her. I also played well with my 9-year-old human foster sister.

I don't know how to let my foster mom know when I need to go out, so she has to pay attention if the sliding glass door isn't opened. I am crate-trained but prefer to roam free. If placed in the crate, I will quietly wait the night until my foster mom gets up. I also like to lie in my crate when the door is open and if left out for the night, I spend most of the night inside my crate anyway, but when left out of the crate at night or when Mom is gone, I sometimes go potty in the house. I sure wish we had a dog door! I am smart enough to master that kind of thing really quickly!

I think I might be the perfect puppy – at least that’s what my humans tell me. I am fun and playful and extremely loving. I will bring sunshine to your life and make you smile every day!

I am in a foster home in Lago Vista, Texas. You can apply to adopt me in Texas or Northeastern states.
